i grew up with a tribe of mayan indians in the highlands of guatemala until moving to the united states in my later years. in addition to woodworking, i have enjoyed flying airplanes and helicopters, teaching high-performance motorcycle riding and racing, fine art photography, and the target shooting sports.

i live with julie in nashville, tn, usa, and together we have two boys, who are both married with children.
